The singer has seen her handy man in a new light!

Songbird Hayley Westenra and her French fiance Arnaud have become used to living their lives in the midst of controlled chaos.

In one comer of the lounge at their London flat, the 26-year-old's suitcases lie open, ready to be packed for another tour, this time to South East Asia. They jostle for position alongside a ladder, a workbench and a serious collection of power tools.
Hayley rolls her eyes playfully. These power tools are an endless source of pride and joy for her DIY-loving beau.
While there's no denying how much the pair adore each other, Hayley jokes that he can't wait for her to get on the road.
"He doesn't want me in here trying to vacuum up all the time and if I'm gone, he can leave power tools all over the house without me complaining," says Hayley, raising her eyebrows in mock exaggeration.
"We have had professionals in to do some stuff and the job Arnaud does is just as good, if not better."

No time to waste!
With wedding plans to finalise, the pair could have called in help to manage the renovation project they started earlier this year. But sound engineer Arnaud is a proud handyman and the flat is his labour of love.
When he's not touring the world - which is how he met Hayley five years ago - he loves to pull on overalls and get his hands dirty.
He laid down floorboards, installed shelves and painted the entire flat.
"I enjoy the whole process and find it relaxing. And when Hayley's away, I can just get stuck in, do my own thing and leave everything all over the place," he admits.
Meanwhile, Hayley focuses on the finer details. "It's been a chaotic year for both of us, but it's amazing to sit back and look at the work Arnaud has done," says the nowbrunette singer.
"I must admit, though, sometimes my contributions made it harder for him! I did my paint research and realised if it was going to be on our walls for a long time, I wanted to use eco-paint, which requires a little more work."
Playing to their strengths has become a hallmark of their solid relationship, and putting paint to plaster is the DIY domesticity both Hayley and Arnaud crave after weeks apart on the road.
Their second-storey flat in a leafy borough of inner-city London is their sanctuary and the place they hope to one day raise a family.
"This is our little zone," says Hayley. "Arnaud's a real homebody, who loves his own space, and that's rubbed off on me. I had got used to packing up and going here, there and everywhere, but it's nice to now have somewhere just for us."
Their partnership has helped Hayley carve out a hugely successful worldwide career. She moved to the UK in 2007 and the next year when her parents Jill and Gerald Westenra returned to Christchurch - she got her own place.
Yet as life became all about work, Hayley almost gave it all up and came home. But falling in love with Arnaud - one of her sound engineers on tour - anchored her life in England.
"We did a couple of tours together before discovering our connection," explains Hayley.
"Suddenly we started seeing each other in a totally different light."

So in tune
Adds Arnaud, "I realised Hayley was right there in front of me and I'd never really looked at her in that way before. At first, it was very professional and our contact was limited to the fact that we were working hard to make it happen. Then one day both of us opened up, became a bit more ourselves and started talking. At that point, everything changed."
Falling head-over-heels for each other, the "total opposites" knew this relationship differed from anything either had experienced. After three happy years together, they began talking marriage.
Says Arnaud, "I'm from a family of divorced parents, so I didn't really understand about marriage.
We are so happy the way we are that I knew we didn't need a piece of paper to say that.
"But when I started to think about proposing, I realised how beautiful that moment could be, where you stand up in front of your family and friends and show the world how much you love each other. Our idea to get married is all about the meaning behind it."
For Hayley, it's been a hectic few months juggling work - she's writing a new album and touring - with renovations and preparing for the wedding, which is fast approaching. She admits she can't wait for her big day.
"It's a wonderful celebration and recognition of our love," she says. "But I'll be most excited to introduce Arnaud as my husband.
It'll be nice to say to the world that we love each other and we want to build a future together."
